What is a menstrual cup?
The menstrual cup is a reusable cup made of medical grade silicone from Wacker Germany for use during menstruation, collecting the blood inside of the vagina.
It is an innovative product designed in Denmark and popular worldwide.
The menstrual cup helps millions of women during menstruation and offers them a healthy alternative to classic disposable products. The menstrual cup can be used for a period of 2-5 years and is a cost-effective solution for menstrual protection.
How does it work?
The menstrual cup is used in the vagina during menstruation. Once inserted, it is no larger than a tampon and effectively protects against leakage as it can be comfortably inserted into the vaginal canal. Thanks to its medically approved silicone and the fact that no bacteria come into contact with the blood, it can be used safely for up to 12 hours.
The menstrual cup works on the basis of a system developed by specialists, is comfortable, reliable to use and medically safe.

How to use a menstrual cup?
The menstrual cup is a device that is inserted into the vagina to collect menstrual blood. It has an adjustable tail so that each woman can use the size that is right for her. The menstrual cup is made of medical grade silicone and is used in place of tampons and pads.
Unlike a tampon, which absorbs blood, the menstrual cup collects blood inside, helping to prevent vaginal infections or dryness. The cup sits along the vaginal canal collecting the blood when opened. The menstrual cup is left in the vagina for a certain amount of time, depending on the menstrual flow.
For example, a woman with a light flow might leave the cup in the vagina for 10-12 hours, while a woman with a heavier menstrual period may need to change the cup every 3-4 hours. The cup’s protective stem will create a vacuum in the vaginal canal when opened, protecting against leakage.
The menstrual cup is removed for emptying and then reinserted. The cup can be worn during the day and night, even during strenuous physical activities such as running or cycling, and especially when swimming.
Menstrual cup versus pads
The menstrual cup, unlike pads, is a one-time purchase. For example, it can be worn for a long period of time without needing to be replaced, so you do not have to worry about changing pads or tampons frequently. You’ll also save yourself tons of waste and plastic that ends up in landfills. Thanks to its silicone, it’s a healthy option for your intimate balance. Also, think of how much money you’ll save month after month, year after year.
Menstrual cup versus internal tampons
The menstrual cup is a safe and effective alternative to tampons. The menstrual cup traps blood inside it without affecting vaginal flora and does not cause dryness. Moreover, it is a hygienic, comfortable and effective option for every woman. The menstrual cup is also the optimal choice from an economic point of view.
