Can I swim in Scarlett without a tampon?
Yes, on light or moderate flow days you can wear it on its own. The period protection is built into the swimsuit. On heavy flow days, you can combine it with a menstrual disc, a cup or a tampon that suits your flow.
How long can I wear it in the water?
How long you can wear it depends on how heavy your flow is. A capacity of 30 ml doesn't equal a fixed number of hours. The first few times, check more often whether you need to change, and bring an extra swimsuit for a long day at the beach.
How do I choose the right size?
Compare your hips, waist and bust with Scarlett's size guide. Also check the fit along the length of your torso: the straps shouldn't pull, and the edges around the legs should sit close to the body. Don't choose a smaller size to increase absorbency.
Does the swimsuit have a shaping effect?
Scarlett is a one-piece period swimsuit in stretch material that covers the tummy. The fit follows the lines of your body, but it isn't presented as compression wear or as a product with a shaping effect.
Can people tell it's a period swimsuit?
From the outside, Scarlett looks like a one-piece with thin double straps. The area that absorbs menstrual blood is discreetly integrated on the inside, in the gusset.
Can I keep them on while lounging between swims?
Yes, you can also wear it on the beach or by the pool between swims. Your flow still matters out of the water, so check whether you need to change. When you've finished swimming, you can have dry underwear ready for the rest of the day.
How do I wash and dry it?
Rinse in cold water after use, then wash at 30°C without fabric softener. Air-dry it out of strong sunlight, without a tumble dryer. Follow the label, and let the absorbent area dry completely before wearing it again.
Do I need an extra swimsuit?
An extra swimsuit is handy for long days by the pool or the sea. If you swim several days in a row, allow for time to wash and dry. To carry the used swimsuit, you can use a waterproof bag and take it out when you get home.
