Yes, on light or moderate flow days you can wear them on their own. The protection is built into the bikini bottoms. If your flow is heavy, you can combine them with a menstrual disc, a cup or a tampon that suits your flow.
How does the high waist fit?
The fit comes higher up on the tummy and gives more coverage than low-waisted bikini bottoms. Choose the size where the waist and edges sit close to the body without pressure or large gaps. A high waist does not mean higher absorbency.
How long can I wear it in the water?
Wear time depends on how heavy your flow is. A capacity of 30 ml does not equal a fixed number of hours. The first few times, check more often whether you need to change, and bring an extra pair.
Is it also suitable for teens?
Yes. Kaia can also be worn by teens, including from their first periods, if they prefer external protection when swimming. It also suits adult women. Size and how heavy the flow is matter when choosing.
How do I choose the right size?
Measure your waist and hips and see Kaia's size guide. With the high-waisted fit, check both measurements. Don't choose a smaller size to increase absorbency.
Can I keep them on while lounging between swims?
Yes, Kaia are period bikini bottoms that you can also keep on at the beach between swims. Your flow still matters out of the water: check whether you need to change. After swimming, you can have dry underwear ready for the rest of the day.
How do I wash and dry it?
Rinse in cold water after use, then wash at 30°C without fabric softener. Air-dry out of strong sunlight, without a tumble dryer. Follow the product label, and let the bikini bottoms dry completely before wearing them again.
Do I need several pairs?
