HOW TO USE IT
How to use the tampon without an applicator.

Wash your hands, remove the paper completely and unfold the string. Check that it's firmly attached, as described in the leaflet.

Find a relaxed position. With your index finger against the base of the tampon, gently insert it, angled towards your back, without pushing hard.

The string stays outside the body. The tampon shouldn't hurt; if you feel pain, stop and remove it.

Relax and gently pull the string to remove it. Wrap up the used tampon and put it in the general waste.

TOXIC SHOCK SYNDROME
TSS: know the signsTSS is rare but serious and can be life-threatening. Sudden fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, dizziness, fainting or a rash that looks like sunburn can be signs. Remove the tampon and seek medical help immediately; say that you've been using tampons.
PACKAGING AND DISPOSAL
After use, separate the product from the packaging.
The used tampon and the packaging are disposed of differently.
The used tampon
Wrap it up and put it in the general waste bin. Don't flush it down the toilet, and don't reuse it.
The individual paper
The wrapper is made of cellulose paper. If it's clean and dry, follow the local rules for sorting paper.
The box and the leaflet
Keep the leaflet for as long as you use the product. When the box is empty, sort the cardboard and paper according to the local rules.

What flow is the Regular variant suited for?
The Regular variant is in the 6–9 g absorbency category, according to the technical data sheet, and is designed for a light to moderate flow. Choose the lowest absorbency that meets your needs. A higher absorbency is not a reason to use the tampon for longer.
What is the CottonLock cover?
It's the organic cotton cover that surrounds the absorbent core and helps keep the fibres together in the tampon. It doesn't replace the rules for use and doesn't remove the risk of toxic shock syndrome (TSS).
Do the tampons have an applicator?
No. These are tampons without an applicator, inserted with your finger. Wash your hands, remove the wrapper completely and follow the instructions in the leaflet. The string should stay outside the body.
I'm using them for the first time. What do I need to know?
Read the leaflet before first use. Find a comfortable position, relax and gently insert the tampon without pushing hard. If insertion or use hurts, stop using it, and seek advice from a doctor if the discomfort continues.
How often should I change the tampon?
The leaflet recommends changing after 4–6 hours, and sooner if your flow requires it. Never use the same tampon for more than 8 hours. Always remove the old tampon before inserting a new one, and only use tampons during your period.
Can I sleep with a tampon?
For this product, the leaflet recommends choosing an external product at night, e.g. a period pad. Remove the tampon before you go to bed.
What is TSS, and what do I do if I get symptoms?
Toxic shock syndrome is rare but serious and can be life-threatening. If you get a sudden fever, vomiting, diarrhoea or dizziness, faint or get a rash that looks like sunburn, remove the tampon and seek medical help immediately. Say that you've been using tampons. Not all symptoms have to be present. If you've had TSS, talk to your doctor before using tampons again.
What do I do if I can't get the tampon out?
Wash your hands, relax and try pulling gently on the string. Don't use tweezers or other objects. If you can't get it out, seek medical help as soon as possible; don't wait until the maximum wearing time has passed. If you get symptoms of TSS, seek help immediately.
Can teens use it?
Tampons can be an option once periods have started, if the user feels comfortable with an internal product and understands the instructions. The absorbency is chosen according to the flow, not age. Read the leaflet before first use, and ask for advice if you're unsure.
What are the tampon and the packaging made of?

How many tampons are in the box, and how do I store them?
The box contains 16 individually wrapped tampons. Store them in a cool, dry place, and check the packaging before use. Read and keep the leaflet from the box.
Can I flush them down the toilet or put them in compost?
Don't flush the tampon down the toilet. The used product goes in the general waste and must not be reused. Being made of cotton doesn't mean the used tampon should go in the compost. Follow the local rules for sorting paper and cardboard.
