When the worry about leaks
wakes you up.

Have you ever woken up to check whether something leaked? Or slept in one position for fear that your pad might shift? When you have your period, these worries can interrupt your rest. When choosing protection, three details make the difference.

  • Coverage when you change position

If you prefer period underwear, check how far the absorbent area reaches at the front and back. With pads, length and how they attach to your underwear matter.

  • Absorbency that matches your flow

On days with a heavier flow, you may need more capacity and more frequent changes. Consider what you know about your own period and the recommended wear time.

  • Comfort against your skin

Underwear should sit well on your body without pinching or slipping. The right size helps you feel comfortable when you turn from one side to the other.

Choose what suits your body.

Start with your flow

For underwear and pads, compare absorbency. For discs and cups, compare how much they collect. The values alongside help you see the differences between models; when to change or empty also depends on your flow, not only on capacity.

Evening and morning.
A simple routine.

  1. Choose before bed

Think about your flow and the coverage you need. Check the product’s wear time: it applies while you sleep, too.

  2. Start with clean protection

Wash your hands, then put on a new pad or a clean pair of period underwear. If you use a disc or cup, empty and clean it before inserting it again.

  3. Change your protection when you wake up

Change your protection when you wake up, or earlier if your flow or the wear time requires it. For reusable products, follow the care steps below.

your reusable products.

Period underwear

Margaret, Nora, Nanna and Flexi have a contact layer of hemp and organic cotton; Ida has an organic cotton contact layer (in some colours combined with hemp). All have a waterproof layer. Materials and certifications for each model are on its product page.

  • Rinse with cold water after wearing.
  • Wash at 40 °C without fabric softener.
  • For extra hygiene, wash at 60 °C if the model’s label allows it.
  • Air dry, without a tumble dryer and without ironing.
  • A wash bag protects them in the machine.

The disc and the cup

The disc and the cup are made of biocompatible medical-grade silicone. They collect the flow without absorbing vaginal moisture. The Safe models include Saniconcentrate™. Follow the model’s cleaning instructions, including when it has antibacterial technology.

  • Clean them after each use, as described in the model’s instructions.
  • Let them dry completely.
  • Store them in their pouch.

Any more questions?

Do the disc and cup affect vaginal flora or odour?

The disc and cup collect the flow without absorbing vaginal moisture. Research on menstrual cups does not offer a guarantee for every product and every person. Collected blood is not sterile, and odour can vary. Regular emptying and cleaning remain important; if you notice an unusual odour that persists, or discomfort, talk to your doctor.

What should I wear at night during my period?

Pads and period underwear are external options; the disc and cup are worn internally. Choose based on your flow, fit and what you feel comfortable using. Follow the wear time and the model’s instructions.

How do I choose based on my flow?

For period underwear, look at the drops and the capacity: from 45 ml up to 100 ml (up to 6 drops). For discs and cups, look at how much they collect: 18–50 ml, depending on the model. More details on the page about protection levels.

How long can I use the product overnight?

Check the model’s instructions, and change or empty the product earlier when your flow requires it. For the discs and cups shown, Femieko states up to 12 hours, depending on flow. This is a maximum limit, not a time you need to reach.

How do I find the right size?

For period underwear, use the size chart on each model’s page. For cups and discs, read the guides: how to choose a cup and how to choose a disc.

What is the difference between Nora and Margaret?

Both have the highest absorbency level (6 drops), up to 100 ml, and coverage at the front and back. Nora has a boyshort cut. Margaret has a high waist and is seamless.

Can I combine a disc or a cup with period underwear?

Yes. Period underwear can offer extra protection alongside a disc or a cup. Follow the wear time and instructions of each product separately.

How do I care for period underwear after a night?

Rinse them in cold water, then wash at 40 °C without fabric softener. For extra hygiene, use 60 °C if the model’s label allows it. Let them air dry. The full steps are in the washing guide.

How do I clean the disc or cup?

Wash your hands before removing it, empty the product and follow the cleaning steps in its instructions. For hygiene and storage, see the guide for the model you chose.
